In the case of inclement weather or crop issues, Raker uses Weather and Order Alerts to communicate delivery delays to our customers, sales representatives, and brokerages.


WEATHER ALERT
A Weather Alert is sent when inclement weather delays normal delivery. An e-mail is sent directly to the brokerage offices whose customers are affected. The Weather Alert is a document that lists the order number, broker purchase order number, and customer(s) affected by the delay.

We declare Weather Alerts based on conditions in Litchfield, Michigan (49252) and the order destination. Raker makes every effort not to ship product into adverse weather conditions.

ORDER ALERT
An Order Alert communicates a necessary change, delay, or cancellation. It is sent directly to the affected brokerage office. If necessary, the brokerage will forward the information to affected parties. The Order Alert communicates three vital points to our brokers/customers:

1. RESPONSE DATE
The date Raker needs a response from the customer in order to take action (e.g., schedule a new sow date).

2. CONTACT INFORMATION
Lists the customer(s) the Order Alert applies to, the order number(s), the original ship week(s), and brokerage contact information.

3. REPORT DETAIL
For each cultivar and tray size affected, the report lists how many trays are involved, the reason for the Alert, and three possible responses (reschedule, substitute, or cancel). If Raker has suitable substitutions in inventory, those items are also listed.
